Gwangju City "Please Report Facilities Not Following Quarantine Rules"

Operation of the 'COVID-19 Safety Reporting System'... New Section Established in the Safety Report Portal

Gwangju City "Please Report Facilities Not Following Quarantine Rules"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 5th that from this month, any citizen can report facilities that habitually do not comply with quarantine rules by photographing them and submitting the report to the Safety Report Center to block COVID-19.

In response to the escalation of social distancing to Level 2 due to the spread of COVID-19, Gwangju City plans to establish a new "COVID-19 Safety Report" section within the existing Safety Report Center to comprehensively identify blind spots in quarantine and improve vulnerabilities.

The "COVID-19 Safety Reporting System" is a system where citizens can take photos of quarantine-vulnerable facilities and facilities that habitually violate quarantine rules around their daily lives and report them via the Safety Report Center app or portal.

The main targets for COVID-19 safety reports include ▲ facilities that violate quarantine rules and habitually breach social distancing guidelines ▲ facilities that do not comply with administrative orders such as gathering bans related to high-risk facilities ▲ violations of self-quarantine and isolation facility rules ▲ proposals for institutional improvements to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Until the 14th, reports can be submitted as before through the "General Report" section on both the app and portal, and from the 15th, the newly established "COVID-19 Report" section can be used.

In this regard, Gwangju City has formed a "COVID-19 Safety Report Dedicated Team" within the Disaster Safety Situation Room to manage the processing status of COVID-19 safety reports. Report cases will be reviewed by a review committee, and if recognized as contributing to blocking the spread of COVID-19 in the local community, rewards will be given at the end of the year.

Jung Min-gon, Director of the Citizen Safety Office of the city, said, "The current quarantine situation is very serious, with more than 70 new confirmed cases occurring in the Gwangju area over the past week," and added, "We hope citizens actively practice the Level 2 social distancing administrative measures and report COVID-19 vulnerable facilities around their daily lives through the Safety Report Center so that Gwangju can become a safe community free from the COVID-19 virus."
