[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Youngtak expressed his feelings toward his father.

On the 5th, trot singer Youngtak and broadcaster Park Seul-gi appeared as regular guests on TBS FM's 'Choi Il-gu's Hurricane Radio.'

That day, a listener sent a story about how their son stopped contacting them after getting married. In response, Choi Il-gu asked Youngtak, "Youngtak, if you get married, will you stop contacting your parents?" Youngtak replied, "I haven't really thought about marriage because it feels like such a distant thing, but these days I contact them three or four times a day."

He continued, "Because my mother is with my father, and she takes care of him, I ask how he is doing today. If I don't contact them, my mother calls me," he explained. Choi Il-gu expressed surprise, saying, "I'm also a son with an 80-year-old mother, but calling three times a day is not an ordinary thing."

In fact, Youngtak's father, who is battling a stroke, is reportedly recovering quickly as he gains strength from seeing his son grow and receive love from the public as a trot singer.

Youngtak added, "I'll see him again later. I'm his only child, so he has no one else to communicate with." When asked, "You can see Youngtak on TV, right?" he said, "He wants live broadcasts, not recordings. We also do video calls often. Since I've been busy lately, he worries a lot about whether I'm eating properly."

Choi Il-gu also asked, "What is your parents' favorite song?" Youngtak answered, "I think they like all my songs, but I don't know which one they like the most."

He then shared with a smile, "A few days ago, my father came to Seoul, and I asked him, 'How do you feel watching me sing on the broadcast these days?' He said, 'I used to be a bit anxious, but these days I have no worries. You're doing well now.'"
