[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 5th that it has selected 12 small and medium-sized entrepreneurs as this year's 'Respected Entrepreneurs.'
Respected Entrepreneurs refer to exemplary small and medium-sized business owners who actively practice people-centered management that grows together with their employees. Since 2016, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has selected a total of 48 Respected Entrepreneurs, including the 12 selected this year.
A total of 176 applicants applied through the newly introduced national recommendation system this year. After a rigorous evaluation process including the first document screening, second on-site evaluation, and third final presentation evaluation, 12 finalists were selected through a competition ratio of 14.7 to 1. Among the 12 final Respected Entrepreneurs, two entrepreneurs?Hyung Jaesung, CEO of CTK Co., Ltd., and Kang Seokwon, CEO of K-Pack Co., Ltd.?applied through the national recommendation system.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to produce and broadcast a television program showcasing the excellent cases of the selected Respected Entrepreneurs and support the awarding of trophies. In addition to TV broadcasts, various content highlighting these outstanding cases will be actively produced and promoted.
Choi Wonyoung, Director of the Job Policy Division at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "Many small and medium-sized enterprises share their business performance with employees and strive to improve employee welfare and nurture talent. We will work hard to widely promote such SMEs to job seekers, including youth, continuously discover and publicize Respected Entrepreneurs, and contribute to spreading a culture of performance sharing and win-win cooperation between SMEs and employees."
