Gyeonggi-do Extends 'Gathering Ban' for Door-to-Door Sales Businesses and Entertainment Bars for 2 Weeks

Gyeonggi-do Extends 'Gathering Ban' for Door-to-Door Sales Businesses and Entertainment Bars for 2 Weeks

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will extend the administrative order banning gatherings at door-to-door sales companies and entertainment bars within the province for two weeks.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that the ban on gatherings at these locations, which was in effect from the 20th of last month to the 5th of this month, will be extended for two weeks from the 6th to the 19th.

This measure is in response to the increasing number of COVID-19 infection cases occurring in unpredictable locations.

The gathering ban targets ▲10 multi-level marketing companies ▲755 sponsor door-to-door sales companies ▲4,084 door-to-door sales companies, totaling 4,849 locations. These companies are prohibited from conducting any group activities such as group promotions, group training, and group sales during this period.

Additionally, the administrative order for entertainment bars and other multi-use facilities has also been extended for two weeks until the 19th. This is the second extension since the gathering ban was first imposed on these facilities on the 8th of last month.

The gathering ban targets ▲476 entertainment bars including clubs, roomsalons, stand bars, cabarets, singing clubs, and singing bars ▲63 colatecs ▲268 danran bars ▲88 coin karaoke rooms, totaling 895 locations.

As of the 3rd, out of 8,374 entertainment bars and other multi-use facilities in the province, 7,479 locations that submitted a pledge to comply with quarantine rules and management conditions were excluded, and the remaining 895 locations were designated as subject to the gathering ban.

The province stated that if a pledge to comply with quarantine rules and management conditions is submitted to and approved by the city/county gathering ban lifting review committee, or if it will be submitted and approved in the future, the conditions must be met to allow gatherings.

In case of violation of the rules, the gathering ban and penalty provisions will be applied immediately.

A provincial official explained, "As the spread of infections has extended from the metropolitan area, Daejeon, and Gwangju to Daegu, the number of locally transmitted cases is increasing again. Since infection cases due to close contact among users continue to occur in unpredictable locations, we have decided to extend the administrative order."
