[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] As of midnight on the 4th, a 68-year-old man in Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, was confirmed as a COVID-19 case. This patient is the 53rd confirmed case in Gyeongju-si and the 1349th case in the entire Gyeongsangbuk-do province.
According to Gyeongsangbuk-do authorities, the 68-year-old man residing in Gyeongju had contact with a confirmed patient in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do on the 24th of last month. After developing symptoms of fever and cough, he was tested at the Gyeongju City Public Health Center on the 2nd and received a positive result on the 3rd. He was then transferred to Andong Medical Center.
As of midnight on the 4th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Gyeongsangbuk-do has risen to 1349. The number of recovered patients is 1284, with one additional recovery confirmed the previous day, and the death toll stands at 58.
The sources of infection by confirmed cases are as follows: Shincheonji 473 cases, Cheongdo Daenam Hospital 116 cases, Pureun Nursing Home 68 cases, Seo Nursing Hospital 65 cases, Yecheon local infection 41 cases, pilgrimage 29 cases, overseas inflow 34 cases, and the infection routes of 498 cases remain unidentified.
