'Me Too' Kim Ji-eun files 300 million won damages suit against 'sexual assault perpetrator' An Hee-jung and others

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Kim Ji-eun, who exposed the sexual assault by former Chungnam Governor Ahn Hee-jung and ignited the 'Me Too' movement, has filed a 300 million won damages lawsuit against former Governor Ahn and Chungcheongnam-do.

According to the legal community on the 4th, Kim filed a lawsuit on the 2nd at the Seoul Central District Court seeking 300 million won in damages against former Governor Ahn and Chungnam Province.

Kim is known to claim responsibility for post-traumatic stress disorder and other damages caused by former Governor Ahn's sexual crimes. Regarding Chungnam Province, it is reported that she argued that since the sexual crimes occurred during the performance of official duties, the affiliated local government, Chungnam Province, also bears compensation responsibility.

In March 2018, Kim revealed that she was continuously sexually assaulted and harassed while working as former Governor Ahn's personal secretary. Subsequently, former Governor Ahn was convicted of sexually assaulting and harassing Kim by abusing his position, and in September last year, the Supreme Court confirmed a prison sentence of 3 years and 6 months.
