Jungnang-gu Traditional Markets 'Donghaeng Sale' Underway~~~

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) announced that from the 3rd to the 12th, it will participate in the ‘Korea Together Sale’ to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), at four traditional markets in the area.

The ‘Korea Together Sale’ is a project promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to revitalize traditional markets struggling due to the economic downturn caused by COVID-19. It will be held at four traditional markets: Sagajeong Market, Jangmi Jeil Market, Dongbu Alley Market, and Dongwon Traditional General Market.

The sale will be conducted separately at each market: from the 3rd to the 7th at Sagajeong Market, from the 6th to the 10th at Jangmi Jeil Market, from the 8th to the 12th at Dongbu Alley Market, and from the 10th to the 12th at Dongwon Traditional General Market, with discounts of up to 60%.

Additionally, during the event period, customers who purchase more than 30,000 won will be entered into a prize draw event, where massage chairs, stylers, UHD TVs, and other items will be awarded. The winners will be announced via the YouTube channel in accordance with COVID-19 social distancing measures.

Along with this, the district will also promote the ‘Thanks to You Challenge’ to express gratitude to medical staff dedicated to overcoming COVID-19. If the total amount of receipts for products purchased during the event period reaches the set target, donations will be made to medical staff at the Seoul Medical Center screening clinic, public health centers, hospitals, and fire stations.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “This Together Sale is a win-win sale where you can both purchase goods and support traditional markets. I hope that many people’s participation will provide an opportunity to ease the worries of traditional market merchants who are struggling due to COVID-19.”

The district is also making every effort to ensure the safety of visitors to traditional markets by conducting disinfection three times a day, maintaining participant logs, providing hand sanitizers, and conducting temperature checks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
