Kim Tae-nyeon: "The 3rd Supplementary Budget Was Examined Meticulously Under a Microscope"

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Kim Tae-nyeon, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated that the review of the 3rd supplementary budget bill to respond to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was conducted "meticulously and precisely under a microscope."

At the Democratic Party members' meeting held at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the 3rd, Floor Leader Kim said, "The Democratic Party has put its life on the line for the past month to protect the people's livelihood and economy by urgently preparing and reviewing the supplementary budget."

He added, "There are claims from some quarters trying to find faults with this supplementary budget," and said, "The Democratic Party consulted with the government from the process of preparing the supplementary budget, and after the bill was submitted to the National Assembly, it underwent meetings and preliminary reviews by each standing committee." He emphasized, "I would like to clarify that this supplementary budget does not include individual regional budgets."

Floor Leader Kim continued, "The plenary session will be held shortly. The Democratic Party will focus on taking care of the people's livelihood through swift and bold fiscal spending."

He said, "We must do our best to ensure that the supplementary budget is executed as soon as possible to prevent corporate bankruptcies and protect the lives of the people," and added, "I believe the public will watch the Democratic Party fulfilling its role and responsibility as the ruling party."
