Jeonju City Supports Vocational Training Expenses for Special-Type Workers and Freelancers Jeonju City Hall

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jae-hee] Jeonju City in Jeollabuk-do is providing support for vocational training costs for workers in special employment types and freelancers.

On the 3rd, the city announced that it will promote a vocational training cost support project targeting 1,000 special employment workers and freelancers who are in the blind spots of employment insurance.

The support covers up to 500,000 KRW per person for the self-pay portion of vocational training costs paid with the National Tomorrow Learning Card since March, excluding the government-funded portion.

The eligible recipients are special employment workers and freelancers such as private tutors, academy instructors, after-school instructors, door-to-door salespeople, insurance planners, book curators, and translators who have taken vocational training courses through the National Tomorrow Learning Card issued by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

However, those who are enrolled in employment insurance during the training period, business owners, those earning income through separate economic activities unrelated to special employment or freelance work, and those who have already received support for the self-pay portion of the National Tomorrow Learning Card are excluded.

Citizens wishing to receive support for vocational training costs can download the application form and prepare required documents such as the certificate of completion from the Jeonju City website, and submit them to the Job and Youth Policy Division at City Hall (6th floor, Hyundai Marine & Fire Building) starting from the 6th. Note that the program may end early if the budget is exhausted.

Kim Bong-jeong, head of the Job and Youth Policy Division, said, “We hope this vocational training cost support project will be a good opportunity for special employment workers and freelancers who have had difficulties participating in vocational training,” and added, “We will strive to prepare various support policies for groups in the blind spots of employment welfare.”
