According to the Washington Post (WP) on the 2nd (local time), Vice President Pence was scheduled to campaign across Arizona on the 30th of last month, but the event was postponed. While the postponement was initially attributed to the surge in COVID-19 cases in Arizona, the real reason was internal issues, including the infection of a Secret Service agent assigned to the Vice President.

The report states that among the preparation team for the Arizona campaign events, which includes the Secret Service and related agencies responsible for protecting the U.S. President and Vice President, approximately 8 to 10 members showed COVID-19 symptoms.

Previously, during the campaign event in Tulsa, Oklahoma last month, at least two Secret Service agents were infected with COVID-19. Consequently, agents who had contact with the infected agents have entered self-quarantine. Regarding this, the Secret Service stated that there are no issues affecting the performance of their duties.
