[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Kim Jong-gap, President of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), announced on the 3rd that he has joined the 'Stay Strong' campaign supporting the overcoming and early end of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The campaign, which encourages overcoming the COVID-19 crisis together by adhering to personal hygiene, started in March by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has been spreading through domestic and international SNS.
The campaign placard features an illustration of hands clasped in prayer and a logo of washing hands with soap bubbles. Participants write the 'Stay Strong' message and recommend three people to continue the campaign.
Having received the relay baton from Cho Hyun-jung, Chairperson of Bit Computer, President Kim held a placard saying "Let's overcome COVID-19 together" and reaffirmed his determination to overcome the pandemic.
President Kim said, "We believe that we can overcome this well," adding, "Following basic daily rules seems to be the best preventive measure."
He also conveyed, "I send support to everyone I know."
Meanwhile, President Kim recommended three people as the next participants in the campaign: Kim Ju-young, member of the Democratic Party of Korea; Jang Seok-woong, Superintendent of Jeonnam Office of Education; and Park Sung-chul, President of KEPCO KDN.
