[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) held a reopening ceremony for the Gongneung 2-dong Gongneung Youth Culture Information Center at 4 p.m. on the 2nd.
The Gongneung Youth Culture Information Center is a building with one basement floor and eight above-ground floors, which was temporarily opened in December 2010 and officially opened in 2011.
It is a complex facility where a youth culture house and a library coexist, serving as a space where young people can learn about community along with knowledge.
The district remodeled the center from the basement first floor to the sixth floor starting in June last year to utilize the space according to the times.
The reopening event was held in a simplified manner due to the COVID-19 situation. About 20 people, including Mayor Oh Seung-rok, designers, and construction company representatives, attended, and the event proceeded with congratulatory speeches, presentation of appreciation plaques, institution touring, and a meeting.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok expressed his congratulations, saying, “I sincerely hope that the Gongneung Youth Culture Information Center becomes a place where local youth can freely rest, play, learn, share, and imagine as they grow.”
