[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea Midland Power has become the first power generation company to establish an integrated monitoring system that remotely monitors new and renewable energy generation facilities.

On the 2nd, Midland Power announced that it will operate a comprehensive remote monitoring system for new and renewable facilities that were previously operated in a distributed and independent manner.

Midland Power also developed and advanced a new and renewable energy generation prediction analysis program using a big data platform.

To efficiently manage new and renewable facilities, Midland Power plans to build and operate a smart integrated control system that integrates remote monitoring and control with profit-oriented power trading.

Park Hyung-gu, president of Midland Power, said, "We will proactively respond to the government's coal phase-out policy aimed at reducing fine dust and greenhouse gases," adding, "We plan to continuously develop new and renewable facilities and promote a digital New Deal that combines core new technologies of the 4th industrial revolution."
