[Asia Economy (Yangju) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency held the '2020 GTC China Video Consultation Meeting' on the 2nd at the Gyeonggi Textile Comprehensive Support Center located in Yangju.
The event was held in a non-face-to-face (Untact) video consultation format to support textile companies in finding export breakthroughs amid difficulties in opening export channels due to COVID-19.
A total of 120 buyers participated in the video consultation meeting, including 68 companies from Hangzhou and 52 companies from Guangzhou.
Son Hee-rak, CEO of Joy & Fabric, who participated in the consultation meeting, said, "This video consultation meeting was very meaningful as it allowed us to meet various buyers and promote products in a situation where it is difficult to discover new buyers due to COVID-19." He added, "Having the consultation directly via video today was not much different from face-to-face consultations, and it was good because it saved travel time and costs, as well as eliminated concerns about COVID-19 infection."
The Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency conducted the consultation meeting while adhering to quarantine rules such as maintaining a 2-meter distance as part of 'social distancing in daily life.'
The Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency will also hold the 'GTC Americas Video Consultation Meeting' in October.
