[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Winia Dimchae announced on the 2nd that it will launch a 23kg large-capacity model of the 'Winia Drum Washing Machine,' which allows washing winter cotton blankets while achieving energy consumption efficiency grade 1.
This new product has the largest capacity among the Winia drum washing machine lineup, enabling users to wash bulky blankets or a large amount of towels and clothing at once. With an energy efficiency rating of grade 1, it reduces consumers' electricity bills. It is also eligible for the government's top-efficiency home appliance rebate program.
Winia Dimchae explained that the washing power, which is important for large-capacity washing, has been enhanced with the 'Clean Shot' feature. The Clean Shot function uses nozzles optimized for washing power to spray water strongly, increasing detergent solubility and helping the detergent penetrate fabrics more easily. The drum, composed of a star-patterned surface, works together with lifters that lift the laundry upward, creating an effect similar to rubbing clothes on a washboard while minimizing fabric damage.
The steam function has been newly added, strengthening sterilization capabilities. The new 'Winia Drum Washing Machine' applies the Clean Steam function, generating steam with a small amount of water to thoroughly remove ingrained dirt inside fabrics and sterilize them. According to test results from the Korea Apparel Testing & Research Institute, harmful bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae were removed by up to 99.9%.
The washing modes are broadly divided into steam courses and general courses. The steam course offers seven selectable modes: ▲Standard ▲Blanket ▲Stubborn Dirt ▲Baby Clothes ▲Towel ▲Clean Allergy ▲Clean Drum Wash. The general course is divided into Quick ▲Wool/Delicate ▲Hand Wash ▲Eco Boil ▲Synthetic ▲Sportswear ▲Rinse/Spin, providing optimal washing functions according to the laundry. There is also a favorite function that allows users to save frequently used or preferred washing courses for convenience. The detergent drawer supports different liquid detergent concentrations, including ▲Regular ▲2x Concentrated ▲3x Concentrated, allowing the appropriate amount to be dispensed according to the concentration.
A laundry addition function is applied to allow adding clothes during washing. Additionally, there is a Clean Steam drum cleaning function to hygienically manage the washing tub. Furthermore, considering that washing machine safety accidents occur frequently, a Child Lock function has been applied for user safety.
The full touch screen offers a clean and easy operation. It is available in two colors, silver and white, and is priced in the 1.4 to 1.5 million KRW range. The motor, the heart of the washing machine, comes with a 10-year free warranty.
A Winia Dimchae official stated, “Recently, consumers tend to purchase products with excellent washing power and those capable of washing large-capacity items such as blankets and mats, considering hygiene aspects.” He emphasized, “The Winia drum washing machine, which ensures hygiene with the steam function, offers grade 1 efficiency at a reasonable price, and does not impose a maintenance cost burden even with frequent use, will be a good choice for customers purchasing washing machines.”
Meanwhile, Winia Dimchae plans to strengthen its large-capacity lineup by launching a 21kg model next month. It will offer similar functions to the 23kg model and will be introduced at a price in the low 1 million KRW range.
