Operating 25 Programs Including Fairy Tale Book Creator, Arduino Lectures, Real Estate Lectures... Conducted via Online Platforms like Kakao Live
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) is operating 25 programs for the 2nd Neighborhood Learning Center online courses targeting Gangbuk-gu residents.
The Neighborhood Learning Center is a project that provides lifelong education at the neighborhood level by utilizing idle spaces within the community such as community service centers and autonomous community halls, supporting learning community activities.
The district prepared online courses to fill the gap in lifelong education that could occur during the closure of Neighborhood Learning Centers due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The programs are based on online platforms such as Kakao Live, Naver Band Live, Zoom, and YouTube. The courses are designed for all age groups, from elementary school students to adults.
For elementary school students, there are courses such as Storybook Creator, Modern Art Play, and Online Special Lecture on Children's History & Craft. For teenagers, there is the Arduino Fun Coding Class.
Programs for adults include Real Estate Life Information No One Tells You, Landscape Sketching, Everyday Chinese via Video, and Writing English Resumes, Self-Introductions, and English Interviews.
Additionally, there are lectures covering a wide range of ages, such as Becoming a Cartoonist and One-Day Classes with Neighboring Resident Instructors.
Those interested can apply through the Gangbuk-gu Neulbaeum Center website. Phone registration is also available through the district office’s Education Support Division.
Previously, from April to June, the district operated six online programs including After-Work Reading Discussions, Art Play, and Small Item Macram?. A total of 348 residents participated in the courses, and survey results showed a satisfaction rate of over 90%.
Park Gyeom-su, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “As face-to-face learning has become difficult due to COVID-19, we have implemented the online Neighborhood Learning Center to provide various learning opportunities to residents. We will use this project as a stepping stone to expand the scope of lifelong education programs in Gangbuk-gu in the future.”
