District Mayor Yu Deok-yeol Holds Meeting with Officials on the 1st, Commends Staff Efforts in COVID-19 Response Meeting

On the morning of the 1st at 9 a.m., Yudeok-yeol, the mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, received a congratulatory bouquet from employees in the lobby on the first floor of Dongdaemun-gu Office.

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, started the third year of the 7th elected term on the 1st together with public officials (directly employed sanitation workers).

On that day at 8 a.m., Mayor Yoo held a meeting with 125 public officials, listening to their difficulties encountered during work and other points needing improvement.

In his greeting, Mayor Yoo said, “I appreciate your hard work in carefully maintaining a clean environment throughout Dongdaemun-gu.” In response, the union branch chief, representing the public officials, said, “Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), we are grateful for the continuous support such as providing masks, which has always helped us perform our duties.”

At 9 a.m., he delivered a commemorative speech to the staff via broadcast. In the situation of avoiding large gatherings due to COVID-19, this was the best way to encourage and communicate with the employees who have worked together for the past two years.

In his speech, Mayor Yoo said, “Thank you for leading the district administration well for the past two years. Please continue to thoroughly respond to COVID-19, the rainy season, and typhoons, and also carry out policies for residents and small business owners facing economic difficulties. Always remember the importance of communication, listen carefully to all civil complaints, and be employees who kindly convey their messages.”

On the same day, union executives representing the employees visited Mayor Yoo to celebrate the 2nd anniversary.

At 6:20 p.m., Dongdaemun-gu held a COVID-19 response staff encouragement meeting with employees from the health center, related departments, and neighborhood community service centers to commend their efforts.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “It has already been two years since the residents entrusted me with the 7th elected term. During this time, I have led the district administration focusing solely on the residents to create a ‘Happy Dongdaemun-gu for Residents.’ I will concentrate all my efforts on promoting key projects and solving pending issues in line with COVID-19 during the remaining term.”
