[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province has revamped its official YouTube channel as ‘Eutteum Jeonnam Tube’ and has begun full-scale operations to promote provincial administration using YouTube in line with the trend of the one-person media era.
According to Jeonnam Province (Governor Kim Young-rok) on the 1st, the official channel name ‘Eutteum Jeonnam Tube’ reflects the meaning of ‘eutteum’ as best, top, and supreme from the provincial slogan ‘Land of Life, Eutteum Jeonnam,’ expressing the intention to produce top-quality content for residents and grow into the best local government YouTube channel.
As a newly established program, ‘Post-COVID-19 Ontact Commerce, Cheap Cheap! Namdo Taste Shopping’ was planned to help promote Jeonnam agricultural, marine, and livestock producers who have difficulty securing sales channels due to COVID-19.
Recently, pilot sales of Haenam Ice Gun Sweet Potatoes and Muan Onions received positive responses from both producers and viewers.
This program is the first local government YouTube live commerce broadcast that sells products from the Jeonnam online shopping mall ‘Namdo Jangteo’ at special prices while communicating in real-time from the production sites.
Also attracting attention is ‘Eutteum Service Center Manager Gong,’ which introduces provincial projects in a friendly and entertaining way.
‘Manager Gong’ refers to a public official who is always dispatched whenever something happens to the 2 million residents, with the responsible official visiting project sites to provide practical information.
Along with this, efforts are being accelerated to create a resident participation platform.
In the recently conducted recruitment for the ‘Eutteum Jeonnam Creator 1st Generation,’ 10 teams were selected out of a total of 43 applicants, showing high competition. The selected creators will work as specialized creators in provincial fields such as culture, tourism, youth, women, education, and welfare.
The post-COVID-19 ON-tact broadcast project ‘Cool Night Busking! Jeonnam’s Shining Night’ is also underway.
Targeting citizens who could not plan summer vacations due to COVID-19, eight locations in Jeonnam were selected from the ‘Top 100 Night Tourism Spots in Korea’ to introduce safe travel destinations that cool down the hot summer nights through live broadcasts.
Additionally, starting next month, the ‘Eutteum Insta’ program will be launched, which captures the vibrant life stories of Jeonnam residents living based on the sea and islands, golden fields, sky and wind, and blue resources.
Lee Geon-seop, spokesperson for Jeonnam Province, said, “We will plan and produce fun and innovative content to promote Jeonnam Province’s identity both internally and externally,” adding, “We will continuously operate resident participation projects such as Eutteum Jeonnam Creator to grow this channel into one that creates the Jeollanam-do brand value together with residents.”
