The Reading Passbook System doubles the fun of reading by recording the books one has read in a passbook.
To this end, the county public library issues reading passbooks to all visitors, including children, and has installed passbook readers linked to the book lending program to automatically record their reading history.
The reading passbook can be issued by visiting the county public library, presenting a library membership card, or signing up as a new member. After that, one can develop a habit of reading and steadily accumulate a list in the reading passbook.
With the full-scale service of the reading passbook, Sunchang County Public Library plans to promote a family reading campaign called "Book-Reading Families" to increase interest in reading and activate library use, and to select and award the top readers linked to the reading passbook.
"Book-Reading Families" will select 10 families based on a comprehensive evaluation of book lending volume, usage sincerity, and program participation.
Top reading families will be awarded the Sunchang County Mayor's certificate and cultural gift certificates. Additional points will be given to families that include members aged 60 or older as part of the family reading campaign.
A library official said, "As this is a great opportunity to cultivate one's mind and body and broaden one's knowledge through reading while also receiving gift certificates as a bonus, we hope many residents will participate."
