[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] The KOSPI index, which started on an upward trend, has fallen to the 2100 level and is showing a sideways movement.


As of 2:51 PM on the 1st, the KOSPI recorded 2107.95, down 0.38 points (0.02%) from the previous session.


The KOSPI opened at 2128.81, up 20.48 points (0.97%) from the previous trading day, rose to the 2130 level, but showed a sharp decline after 2 PM.


In the stock market, individuals and institutions were net buyers of 6.3 billion KRW and 85.6 billion KRW respectively, while foreigners were net sellers of 95.1 billion KRW.


By sector, food and beverages (0.72%), steel and metals (2.47%), and telecommunications (3.18%) rose, while textiles and apparel (1.17%) and pharmaceuticals (1.85%) declined.


Among the top market capitalization companies, Samsung Electronics (0.19%), Samsung Biologics (2.32%), and Celltrion (1.96%) fell, while SK Hynix (0.24%), Samsung SDI (1.93%), and Kakao (0.37%) rose.


At the same time, the KOSDAQ also showed a decline of 8.25 points (1.12%) from the previous session, standing at 729.72.


The KOSDAQ opened at 743.53, up 5.56 points (0.75%) from the previous trading day, continued its strong performance, but reversed to a decline after 1:30 PM.


In the KOSDAQ market, individuals were net buyers of 107.1 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions were net sellers of 45.9 billion KRW and 55 billion KRW respectively.


By sector, semiconductors (0.76%) and internet (0.76%) rose, while manufacturing (1.38%) and digital content (1.92%) declined.


Among the top market cap stocks, only Seegene (0.27%) and EcoPro BM (0.41%) rose. Celltrion Healthcare (2.49%), HLB (4.97%), Celltrion Pharm (4.18%), and Alteogen (3.19%) fell.
