Wonkwang University LINC+ Project Group Participates in the 'Thanks to You Challenge'

Support for Medical Staff Struggling Amid the COVID-19 Crisis

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] The LINC+ Project Group at Wonkwang University announced on the 1st that it participated in the ‘Thanks to You Challenge’ campaign at the LINC+ Industry-Academia Cooperation Promotion Lounge on the 1st floor of the Student Support Center on the 29th of last month.

Having been nominated to join the challenge by the LINC+ Project Group of Chosun University, the Wonkwang University LINC+ Project Group took part in the campaign to convey messages of gratitude and support to medical staff, and nominated the Iksan City Council, Wonkwang Health Science University LINC+ Project Group, and the social enterprise (Yu) Hamhaeguk as the next participants.

The campaign on that day included the participation of the entire project group members, including Song Moon-gyu, head of the LINC+ Project Group.

The ‘Thanks to You Challenge’ is a public participation medical staff support campaign first launched by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on April 16 to boost morale and encourage medical personnel dedicated to responding to COVID-19 on the front lines.

In particular, it is conducted in the form of filming sign language expressing gratitude and respect for medical staff and posting it on social media with hashtags such as ‘#ThanksToYouChallenge #ThanksToMedicalStaff’ to show support.

The head of the LINC+ Project Group said, “I would like to express my deep gratitude and respect to the medical staff and volunteers who dedicate themselves day and night to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and I sincerely hope that this challenge will help unite the entire local community with one heart and one mind to move forward.”
