Establishment of an Academic Award for Supporting Basic Research in Korean Medicine
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Geon-ju] Wonkwang University College of Korean Medicine held the 1st Basic Faculty Meeting and announced on the 1st that Professor Lee Ho-seop was selected for the 2nd Daenam Korean Medicine Academic Award.
According to Wonkwang University, the Daenam Korean Medicine Academic Award, which selects and awards professors who have contributed to the development of basic Korean medicine research, was established in 2019 following the donation agreement of development funds to Wonkwang University by Jeong Hyun-guk, director of Daenam Korean Medicine Clinic. Following Professor Yoon Yong-gap last year, this year Professor Lee Ho-seop from the Department of Korean Medicine was recommended.
Professor Lee Ho-seop, who graduated from Wonkwang University Department of Korean Medicine and has been serving as a professor at the College of Korean Medicine since 1983, is recognized for his research capabilities through research activities in domestic and international Korean medicine-related academic journals. He served as the director of the Korean Medicine Body Fluid Regulation Research Center, an excellent research group project of the National Research Foundation of Korea, and currently serves as the director of the Korean Medicine Mind-Body Syndrome Research Center.
He has also served as a planning and evaluation committee member of the National Science and Technology Research Council, head of the Jeollabuk-do Science and Technology Advisory Group, president of the Korean Acupuncture Society of the Korean Medicine Association, director of the Korean Physiological Society, director of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation at Wonkwang University, and dean of the graduate school.
