Haenam-gun New Government Building Construction Progress at 45%, Completion Scheduled for June Next Year

One Year After Groundbreaking, Smooth Progress with Above-Ground Structure Taking Shape

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] The Haenam-gun new government building, which has reached one year since groundbreaking, is progressing smoothly with a 45% completion rate.

According to Haenam-gun on the 1st, the new government building completed its foundation work last October, and starting from the basement in December, the reinforced concrete work has been completed up to the 3rd floor of the main office building and the 4th floor of the council building to date.

All concrete work is scheduled to be completed by August, currently showing an overall progress rate of 45%. It is expected that completion will be possible around June next year after finishing landscaping work in December and road paving work in April next year.

The Haenam-gun new government building project covers a total area of 18,601㎡ and will be newly constructed with the county office building having 7 floors and the county council building having 5 floors, centered around ‘Haenamru,’ which connects with Haenam Eupseong and symbolizes a bright future.

Groundbreaking took place on June 25 last year, with a total construction cost of approximately 43.1 billion KRW. The county has aimed for a debt-free new government building and has been accumulating a construction fund since 2005, currently raising 64.8 billion KRW.

The Haenam-gun new government building construction project has prioritized thorough safety management for one year since groundbreaking, continuing construction without accidents or injuries.

In particular, to minimize inconvenience to residents such as noise, vibration, dust generated during construction, and traffic congestion in urban areas caused by large construction equipment, frequent site inspections are conducted to seek improvement measures and gain public consensus.

County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan expressed, “Despite the inconvenience caused by the construction, I am grateful to the surrounding residents and citizens who have endured for the foundation of Haenam-gun’s century-long plan,” and added, “The county and the construction company will unite as one to do their best in the remaining work to ensure safe completion within the planned construction period.”
