[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Jayjun Cosmetic announced on the 1st that it will hold a beauty product promotion and summer sale on Gmarket Global Shop from July 1 to 7 to expand its overseas market.
Last November, Jayjun Cosmetic conducted the 'Beauty Box' campaign together with Gmarket Global Shop. Thanks to strong sales in overseas markets such as Thailand and Taiwan, sales during the event period increased by approximately 256% compared to the same period last year. In the previous event, famous YouTubers from various countries used the cosmetics contained in the Beauty Box and introduced the products through videos, successfully concluding the event. The Beauty Box campaign is scheduled to be held again this time, and it is expected to attract the attention of consumers worldwide.
Along with this event, Jayjun Cosmetic plans to expand its overseas channels focusing on Myanmar, Kazakhstan, and Morocco.
In Myanmar, it is scheduled to be additionally stocked in about 170 stores of 'City Mart Holdings,' the largest local retailer, in July. Despite most stores being temporarily closed in May due to the impact of COVID-19, it achieved the milestone of entering about 100 channels.
In the African region, it plans to enter the representative e-commerce channel Jumia and the beauty online channel Macilia. Starting with distribution contracts signed with two local companies in Morocco, discussions are underway to expand offline distribution channels such as pharmacy channels, beauty shops, and spas.
In the Kazakhstan market, it plans to be stocked in large local H&B stores, large-scale retail stores, and the online channel 'flip.kz.' The popularity Jayjun Cosmetic enjoys in Russia is expected to influence neighboring Kazakhstan, leading to rapid market entry.
A company official said, "To introduce Jayjun Cosmetic products more familiarly and interestingly to global consumers who are highly interested in K-beauty, we planned the 'Jayjun Beauty Box' promotion together with Gmarket Global Shop." He added, "In particular, this Beauty Box is expected to receive a high response from Asian consumers such as those in Hong Kong and Taiwan who are interested in skincare." He continued, "In addition to the existing North American, Middle Eastern, and European markets, new overseas market entries in Central Asia and Africa are progressing rapidly," and added, "Even in the situation where the global economy is sluggish due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, Jayjun Cosmetic will actively pursue global market expansion."
