Watch Terrestrial Broadcast Content on LG U+ Mobile TV

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] LG Uplus announced that it will resume the subscription video on demand (SVOD) service for the three terrestrial broadcasters on the ‘U+mobiletv’ app starting from the 1st.

On U+mobiletv, monthly subscription products and paid VOD services for the three terrestrial broadcasters were launched on June 1st. With this SVOD offering, customers subscribed to the ‘U+mobiletv Basic Monthly Subscription’ (5,500 KRW per month including VAT) or those whose plans include the relevant monthly subscription product can freely watch terrestrial SVOD content. SVOD content becomes free for monthly subscription users four weeks after the original broadcast. This marks the resumption of terrestrial broadcaster content services on U+mobiletv after about 15 months since March last year.

To celebrate the resumption of terrestrial content services on U+mobiletv, a ‘Watch Again and Again’ event is being held. Until the 31st (Friday), among new subscribers to the three terrestrial broadcasters’ monthly subscription service, a lottery will be held to give away useful summer vacation items: ▲Camping BBQ grill (1 winner) ▲Camping table and chair set (3 winners) ▲Mobile coffee vouchers (50 winners). For customers who watch terrestrial free and paid catch-up content, a lottery will provide ▲20,000 KRW Sulbing gift certificates (50 winners) ▲Mobile coffee vouchers (100 winners).

Yeon Bo-heum, head of LG Uplus Mobile Video Service Team, said, “On the U+mobiletv app, where you can enjoy over 80 live channels, movies, overseas series including American, British, Chinese, and Japanese dramas, as well as about 200,000 pieces of content such as animation and documentaries, terrestrial content can now also be freely enjoyed,” adding, “We plan to continue updating features considering customer viewing convenience.”

U+mobiletv can be downloaded and used from Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and One Store regardless of the telecom carrier being used. Customers of other carriers can watch after signing up for a ‘U+ID’. U+mobiletv Basic Monthly Subscription customers can watch the latest movies, animations, and SVOD from terrestrial and comprehensive programming channels.
