Kim Mikyung, Eunpyeong District Mayor, Conducts On-Site Inspection Around Eungam Station

On-site Inspection of Traffic Island Improvement Project at Sinsa Intersection... Progress Check on Bulgwangcheon Broadcast Culture Street Development Project

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong District, conducted an on-site inspection on June 30th of the environmental improvement of the traffic island at Sinsa Five-way Intersection in Eunpyeong-gu and the Bulkwangcheon Broadcasting Culture Street project.

The existing traffic island at Sinsa Five-way Intersection was a congested area with deteriorated facilities that harmed the urban landscape and caused inconvenience to residents. However, through the improvement project, the old facilities will be demolished, ground-level structures minimized and rearranged, and cultural and artistic spaces such as busking, photo zones, and storytelling will be provided, transforming it into a place accessible to all residents.

Mayor Kim, who visited the site in person, checked the ongoing maintenance of the Sinsa Five-way Intersection traffic island and requested thorough efforts to ensure it can serve as a resting place where Eunpyeong residents can always visit and relax in the future.

She also inspected the Bulkwangcheon Broadcasting Culture Street currently under development, visited the planned site for the Broadcasting Culture Center, confirmed detailed space utilization plans, and examined the surrounding facilities.

Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, “The Broadcasting Culture Comprehensive Center, scheduled to be built this year, is the first step of the Bulkwangcheon Broadcasting Culture Street project, so expectations are high,” and urged careful attention to ensure that people with disabilities can freely use the facilities.
