Starting July, Official Vehicles Moved to Lotte World Mall Parking Lot Nearby
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Seongsoo Park) will improve the district office parking lot into a parking space for residents on weekdays starting in July.
According to the district, an average of 932 vehicles visit Songpa District Office daily. However, the district office parking lot has a total of 157 spaces above and underground, which is insufficient compared to the number of users, causing severe parking difficulties.
As more time was wasted parking than handling civil complaints, voices calling for improvement have continuously emerged.
To address this, the district collaborated with nearby Lotte Corporation to find a solution. On weekdays when many civil petitioners visit, they proposed parking official vehicles such as various enforcement vehicles in the idle parking spaces of the nearby Lotte World Mall.
Lotte Corporation also readily agreed to share the parking spaces with the district on weekdays, when parking spaces are relatively available.
Accordingly, starting in July, Songpa-gu will pay a monthly usage fee to use part of the underground 4th floor parking lot of Lotte World Mall for official vehicle parking on weekdays. On weekends and holidays, when the mall is crowded with shoppers, the vehicles will return to the district office parking lot.
The district plans to continue efforts to enhance resident convenience by expanding parking lot sharing after reviewing the implementation effects and residents' opinions.
Seongsoo Park, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “This parking lot sharing with the company will greatly improve the convenience of residents visiting the district office,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a district office environment that people always want to visit by continuously cooperating with nearby companies and related organizations.”
