Guro-gu Launches 'Youth Community Support Project'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] “A policy community by youth, for youth, and of youth”

Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is launching the ‘Youth Community Support Project.’

On the 1st, Guro-gu announced that it will carry out the ‘Youth Community Support Project’ to help young people solve not only employment but also various issues on their own through community activities.

The ‘Youth Community Support Project’ is part of Guro-gu’s ‘Community Innovation Plan’ and supports young people, who are the main stakeholders of youth policies, to discover policies through community activities and propose them to the district office.

Guro-gu plans to recruit about 10 youth communities in August.

Additionally, to allow young people to focus on community activities, a supporting operator (institution or organization) will be selected to manage project funds and support overall activities.

The supporting operator will be responsible for discovering youth communities, supporting activities, managing project fund execution and settlement, promoting the project, and assisting with mandatory tasks until the end of the year.

Those wishing to participate as a supporting operator should submit application documents, project plans, institution (organization) introduction letters, and performance certificates by the 10th either by visiting the district office’s Planning and Budget Division or by email (felicia872@hanmail.net).

Detailed information is available on the district office website under the notice section, and pre-consultations to help understand the project will also be provided.

A Guro-gu official stated, “We will do our best to ensure that the ideas of local youth are well reflected in policies through the ‘Youth Community Support Project’” and added, “We ask for your great interest and participation.”
