[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] Former Future United Party lawmaker Min Kyung-wook, who lost in the April 15 general election, visited the National Assembly building in Yeouido, Seoul on the 30th, and news of his car being towed has sparked criticism among citizens, with comments such as "Have you been illegally parking all this time?" and "Street parking is illegal."

Former Future United Party lawmaker Cha Myung-jin posted on his Facebook that Min Kyung-wook received a towing notice and was smiling in the photo, saying, "Min Kyung-wook, who drove his own car to the National Assembly and hastily parked on the street, had his car towed to the roadside in front of the National Assembly." He added, "To make matters worse, there was even a scratch on the bumper. Min said, 'The car is only two days old,' and white steam seemed to rise from the back of his head. Would it have been different if there was a lawmaker badge sticker on the car's windshield?"

Cha continued, "But why do I find this funny rather than sympathizing?" and added, "Brother, you will surely experience the sorrow of losing your badge in the future."

Earlier, on the 12th, Min Kyung-wook announced on his Facebook that he had contracted to purchase a Hyundai Sonata.

Following this news, some citizens voiced criticism. One citizen said, "Wasn't the towing done according to the law?" and questioned, "Are you proud of posting this?"

Another citizen raised their voice, saying, "Even if you wear a lawmaker badge, street parking is illegal," and added, "Ordinary citizens can't even park there; you should be ashamed."

Moreover, there were numerous criticisms such as, "'How dare they tow a former lawmaker's car?'," "A former lawmaker not following the law?please get your act together," and "This means you have been illegally parking as usual, so you deserve the criticism."

Previously, after losing in the Incheon Yeonsu-eul district in the April 15 general election, Min Kyung-wook raised allegations of election fraud. On the same day, he held a press conference at the National Assembly, stating, "The people have filed an election invalidation lawsuit with desperate feelings, but the defendant, the Election Commission, is delaying the submission of their response, and the Supreme Court is not even proceeding with the trial process," demanding the Supreme Court immediately conduct a recount.

Meanwhile, within the National Assembly premises, parking on the street outside designated parking spaces during working hours results in towing.
