Kim Il-ok, Dean of the College of Nursing at Samyook University, Selected as a Meritorious Person for 'International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking'


[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Samyook University announced on the 30th that Kim Il-ok, Dean of the College of Nursing, was selected as a meritorious person for the 34th World Drug Prevention Day and received a Prime Minister's Commendation. Dean Kim was recognized for her contributions to the nation and social development by contributing to the eradication of illegal drugs through education and research activities. As an expert in addiction prevention and rehabilitation education, Dean Kim has served as a policy advisory committee member and director of the Korea Drug Prevention Movement Headquarters, as well as deputy director of the affiliated Drug Prevention Research Institute, developing addiction rehabilitation practice guidelines, educational curricula, and operating practical training programs. Through exchange and cooperation with the Berlin Addiction Center in Germany, the National Kurihama Addiction Specialist Hospital in Japan, the Department of Addiction Studies at Charles University in the Czech Republic, and the National Singapore Drug Prevention Association in Singapore, she jointly developed training programs and conducted benchmarking.
