What Are the Urban Regeneration Activation Plans for the Guui Station Area According to Yonsei University Students?

Gwangjin-gu to Hold University Student Idea Presentation on Urban Regeneration Activation Plan around Guui Station Area on the 29th

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) held the ‘Guui Station Area Urban Regeneration Activation Plan University Student Idea Presentation’ on the 29th.

This university student idea presentation was organized to discover diverse and fresh ideas from university students regarding the urban regeneration activation project in the Guui Station area, which involves a project budget of 20 billion KRW over five years.

The presentation was held at the Guui Urban Regeneration Support Center, which opened on the 3rd floor of 31 Jayang-ro 18-gil, Gwangjin-gu, on the 10th of this month.

On the day of the presentation, a total of three teams composed of students attending Professor Lee Je-seon’s (Yonsei University, Urban Engineering) ‘Community Regeneration Planning and Design’ class participated and presented their ideas on the Guui Station area urban regeneration activation plan.

Additionally, city and district officials related to the Guui Station urban regeneration activation project attended and conducted a Q&A session regarding the students’ presentations.

District Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “Through this university student idea presentation, it is meaningful to present new perspectives and directions for the Guui Station area urban regeneration project and to provide students with the experience of participating in an actual urban regeneration project. The district will continue to do its best to derive concrete implementation plans for the Guui Station urban regeneration activation and lead the Guui Station area to become an innovation hub in the northeastern region.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Guui Station Area Urban Regeneration Activation Plan University Student Idea Presentation’ is scheduled to continue on July 7th in collaboration with Konkuk University following the event at Yonsei University on the 29th.
