Boseong-gun Operates July 'Resident Tax Property Portion' Reporting and Payment Period


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yong-chul] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 29th that it will operate the resident tax property category reporting and payment period for one month from the 1st to the 31st of next month.


The reporting and payment targets are business owners whose total area exceeds 330㎡ as of the 1st of next month, and a tax amount of 250 KRW per ㎡ is applied. For business sites that discharge wastewater and industrial waste, the tax is 500 KRW per ㎡.


In particular, common areas such as parking lots, stairs, public restrooms, and machine rooms must be included in the business site area by calculating the allocation ratio compared to the exclusive area and reported. Areas directly used for employees' health, welfare, and education such as company cafeterias, accommodations, and lounges can be excluded from the taxable area when reporting.


Reports can be submitted to the Finance Department of the county office or through Wetax, and payments can be made through financial institutions such as Nonghyup and post offices.


If reporting and payment are not made within the deadline, they will be imposed ex officio, and penalties for negligent reporting (20%) and delinquent payment (0.025% per day) will be applied.


In case of underreporting, penalties for underreporting (10%) and delinquent payment (0.025% per day) will be imposed.


A county official urged, "Since the resident tax property category must be reported and paid directly by the business owner, failure to report and pay within the deadline may result in penalties and other disadvantages, so please report and pay within the period."
