BioLeaders Achieves Sold-Out Record for Immune-Boosting Health Supplement 'Myeonyeogen PGA-K'

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Bioliders, a company specializing in new drug development, announced on the 29th that its immune-enhancing health functional food, “Myeoneogen PGA-K,” sold out on NS Home Shopping on the 28th.

Myeoneogen PGA-K is a pouch-type health functional food made based on “poly-gamma-glutamic acid,” a new drug candidate that Bioliders is developing as a cancer treatment. Manufacturing is handled by Natural F&G, an affiliate of Bioliders.

Clinical trials of oral administration of poly-gamma-glutamic acid have shown that NK cells (natural killer cells), immune cells in the body, increase by more than 52.3%, demonstrating effectiveness in strengthening immunity. NK cells are immune cells that play the most critical role in the innate immune system, accurately identifying and eliminating virus-infected cells or cancer cells generated in the body.

At 8:48 a.m. on the 28th, when the home shopping broadcast aired, “NK cells” ranked first in real-time search terms on major domestic portal sites, drawing significant attention. It is explained that interest in the product has increased as the importance of immunity has been highlighted due to the recent spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

A Bioliders official stated, “During the 64 minutes of broadcast time, a total of 84,960 pouches of Myeoneogen PGA-K, equivalent to 22 pouches per second, were sold,” adding, “We conducted a successful launch broadcast for Myeoneogen PGA-K, which was introduced for the first time on home shopping.” He continued, “Due to a shortage of supply caused by the surge in demand, a second broadcast will be held for consumers who could not purchase the product,” and added, “Home shopping sales are planned to take place on the same channel on the 9th of next month.”

Meanwhile, Bioliders donated PGA soft capsules worth 30 million KRW to medical staff in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions last March. In addition, large purchase orders for ‘PGA soft capsules’ as employee welfare from domestic large corporations have also continued.
