Lee Hi Joins 'Begin Again' Members "It Will Be a Unique Experience"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jeong-ho] Lee Hi, a former contestant of 'K-pop Star,' appeared on Begin Again Korea.

On the afternoon of the 27th, JTBC's 'Begin Again Korea' aired a segment showing Lee Hi joining as a new member.

That day, Lee Hi began by saying, "It's been a while since I appeared on a broadcast. I can sing with great singers."

She continued, "The singers also play instruments themselves, so it seems like it will be a somewhat unique experience. I actually came with a lot of anticipation."

Lee Hi had her first meeting with the members who were waiting for her. However, Henry stepped in with a skit, saying, "I'll take care of this. Why are you late?" which brought laughter to those around.

Then Henry asked, "Hi, aren't you dressed very prettily?" and requested her to turn around, and Lee Hi proudly showed off her beauty as she made a full turn.

Lee Hi went on her first busking with the members at Sokcho Lighthouse Beach. Starting a duet stage with Lee So-ra, Lee Hi captivated viewers at once with her charming vocal tone.

During the beach busking, Lee So-ra introduced, "This song was made by Tablo. This song was guided by Hi."

While playing together, Lee So-ra expressed gratitude to Lee Hi, saying, "Thank you for guiding me. Even though I tried to follow, I couldn't, so I just sang it my way. I thought it would be fine if Hi just sang it." Upon hearing this, Lee Hi shyly replied, "No, I thought the song went to the right person."

In an interview, Lee Hi revealed a special connection, saying, "The engineer sister who worked with me on my 'Breathe' album looked like senior Lee So-ra from behind," and "After senior Lee So-ra saw that photo and listened to my song, she asked Tablo for a 'request song.' That's how I ended up guiding it."

Afterwards, the two performed a duet of 'Request Song' that could not be seen anywhere else, receiving applause from the audience.

Lee Hi shared her thoughts on the duet performance, saying, "I get nervous when I go to a venue for the first time, but this time, the sound of the sea blended in like music, and it was reassuring and nice to be with senior Lee So-ra."

Meanwhile, Lee Hi was under YG Entertainment for seven years, and after her exclusive contract expired last year, she is currently active without an agency.

JTBC's 'Begin Again Korea' airs every Saturday at 11 PM.
