[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics have launched energy grade 1 clothing dryers. With the system to refund 10% of the purchase price for energy efficiency grade 1 products starting next month, intense competition is expected.
According to the home appliance industry on the 27th, Samsung Electronics first launched the Grande Dryer AI Dryer with power efficiency grade 1 (14kg and 16kg) products in Korea last March, and recently introduced a 9kg product.
The new product features 8 sensors that detect the temperature and humidity inside the dryer to dry clothes in optimal conditions. It can save 20% of electricity cost per cycle compared to similar existing products. The retail price is 1,149,000 KRW (White) and 1,249,000 KRW (Black).
LG Electronics also recently released the 16kg 'Tromm Dryer Steam ThinQ' with energy efficiency grade 1.
The new product maximizes power efficiency by equipping a high-efficiency dual inverter compressor and dual inverter motor. The TrueSteam, made by boiling water at 100 degrees Celsius, helps deodorize, sterilize, and reduce wrinkles in fabrics.
The annual energy cost is 44,000 KRW based on the standard course. It is entirely produced at the Changwon plant in Gyeongnam, emphasizing its domestic origin. The retail price ranges from 2,140,000 to 2,340,000 KRW.
The 'Top Efficiency Home Appliance Purchase Cost Refund Program' supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is a system that refunds 10% of the price when purchasing energy-efficient home appliances. Refunds are provided within a limit of 300,000 KRW per individual for 10 product categories subject to energy consumption efficiency grade labeling.
