69-Year-Old Woman in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu Confirmed Positive for COVID-19


[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] On the 24th, one additional confirmed case of COVID-19 was identified in Gangnam-gu.


This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the area to 82.


A 69-year-old woman living in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, regularly met at an office in Yeoksam-dong with a confirmed case from Gangseo-gu who was diagnosed on the 22nd. She developed a cough and underwent testing at the Gangnam Severance Hospital screening clinic on the 23rd, where she tested positive that day.


It is presumed that she was infected through the small group meeting, but her daughter, who had a meal with her on the 17th, was also confirmed positive on the 23rd in Gimpo City. A detailed epidemiological investigation is underway in cooperation with Seoul City.


Gangnam-gu immediately closed the office in question and placed six contacts?including five colleagues who used the same office and one family member?in self-quarantine. Additional contacts are also being identified.
