[Asia Economy (Naepo) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province announced on the 24th that it has completed the construction of an Integrated River Information System that provides integrated information covering local small rivers and national rivers in a 'one-stop' manner.
This system was prepared to improve work efficiency and enhance public services by managing river information within the province in an integrated way.
Previously, for river project implementation and civil complaint consultations, it was necessary to search for books and drawings in archives, but after applying the integrated information system, river maintenance plans can be immediately viewed based on online aerial maps, the province explained.
Above all, by linking national spatial information such as aerial photographs and continuous cadastral maps in real time, the system has secured the timeliness and quality of the data.
The province plans to open this information for public viewing as well.
Hong Seung-won, head of the River Division of the province, said, “With the construction of the integrated information system, it has become easy to check how our local rivers are being maintained,” and added, “We will consider improvement plans together so that the system can be helpful to more people.”
