[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Samki Automotive announced on the 23rd that its cumulative order amount for electric vehicle parts has reached 568 billion KRW.
Recently, Samki Automotive decided to supply battery parts for electric vehicle-dedicated platforms through LG Chem. The electric vehicle parts supplied by Samki Automotive to LG Chem are battery End-plates, which are assembled using laser welding at the outermost edge of the electric vehicle battery. They form the battery exterior and function to protect internal components.
The End-plate parts, which began mass production and supply last year, achieved sales of 6.5 billion KRW in the first quarter of 2020 despite the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The sales volume is expected to continue increasing.
According to the cumulative order amount announced by the company for LG Chem, it stands at 568 billion KRW, with steady supply planned until 2031. The company expects that as global demand for electric vehicles rapidly increases, the annual supply volume will continue to grow.
