June 24 to July 15 Application Submission ... Event Held in Changwon on the 25th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 22nd that the "2020 President's Cup National Amateur eSports Gyeongnam Representative Selection Tournament," hosted by the Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Promotion Foundation, will be held on the 25th at the AfreecaTV PC Bang located in Sangnam-dong, Changwon.
This tournament, hosted by the province, aims to expand the base of the gaming industry and foster a healthy gaming culture among youth. It will feature a total of five categories: League of Legends, Battlegrounds, Audition, Brawl Stars, and Kart Rider.
A total prize of 2.15 million KRW and commendations will be awarded to the top 32 winners in each category determined through the tournament. Among them, 17 will be selected as Gyeongnam representatives to participate in the national finals.
The national finals, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is the largest amateur eSports competition in Korea. It will feature representative teams from 16 metropolitan cities and provinces that have passed regional preliminaries, and is scheduled to be held over two days, August 15-16, at the Changwon Convention Center.

Ryu Myung-hyun, Director of the Culture, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Gyeongnam Province, stated, "As the global eSports industry continues to grow, we plan to create an environment in Gyeongnam where amateur and professional eSports players can demonstrate their abilities. At the provincial level, we will also build eSports infrastructure and provide generous support."
