Chairman Kim said at the first meeting of the Special Committee for the Production of the 21st General Election White Paper held that afternoon, "Only by properly diagnosing the cause of (the election defeat) can we come up with measures to prepare for the next election."
Jeong Yang-seok, former lawmaker and chairman of the special committee, emphasized, "Publishing a white paper that meets the public's expectations is important for our party to be reborn. We will truly maintain a good balance," and added, "We will operate a meeting body that does not look for the cause of defeat outside, does not blame others, and carefully examines whether there were any faults on our part."
Shin Yul, professor of Political Science and Diplomacy at Myongji University and vice chairman of the special committee, said, "Balance between the ruling and opposition parties is important for the development of democracy. However, it is currently quite tilted. Continued imbalance is not good for our country's democracy," and added, "I intend to thoroughly criticize the United Future Party in the last general election."
