[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] The KT ds consortium, which includes Linos, announced on the 22nd that it has signed a contract worth 80 billion KRW for the police's "Phase 2 Wireless System Construction for Disaster Safety Network Establishment for Security Operations." The contract amount for Linos is 24 billion KRW (including VAT).
Under this contract, Linos will be responsible for delivering and installing terminals and other equipment to the Phase 2 regional police agencies (Daegu, Gwangju, Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, Jeju) by December. Additionally, Linos plans to supply additional terminals and reinforce the system in the Phase 1 regions (Daejeon, Sejong, Gangwon, Chungbuk, Chungnam) where the project was conducted last year.
Lee Sang-guk, Executive Director of Linos ICT Business Division, said, "We have already completed the first supply project of police terminals last year and are currently progressing with the disaster network construction project, so we have secured sufficient references, which strengthens our position for additional project orders." He added, "Expectations are rising not only for the remaining regions but also for various linked projects to follow."
The disaster network project is a nationwide unified communication network using the PS-LTE method that enables 333 national institutions, including police, fire departments, and local governments, to transmit and respond to disaster situations through dedicated terminals. Linos won the disaster network Project A worth 330.1 billion KRW in 2018 as part of the KT consortium and is currently building it.
