Rising Autograph Collection in Hongdae, known for its creative sensibility, is reopening in June and will launch a new restaurant, ‘CHARR,’ on June 19. CHARR features a new Western menu that is both familiar and hearty, with a focus on CHARR grill dishes cooked using wood and charcoal.


True to the stylish and distinctive atmosphere of the Rising Hotel, CHARR’s interior captivates with its vintage vibe. As a grill-focused restaurant, the scent of rosemary that greets guests upon entering stimulates the senses and completes the CHARR experience.


- Grilling Method Using Wood and Charcoal

CHARR’s menu highlights the signature Charring/Charred Steak, prepared using the CHARR grill method with applewood and white charcoal, offering deep flavors and aromas. The main dishes center around these richly flavored grilled items.


Tomahawk steak for sharing, seasonal fish, and grilled vegetables deliver the unique heat and taste characteristic of charcoal cooking, sure to delight visitors. Additionally, CHARR’s main dishes allow detailed customization such as the degree of meat aging and origin, enabling guests to select dishes tailored to their preferences.


- A Unique Experience Combining Eastern and Western Charms

CHARR embraces the motto “Think Globally, Act Locally,” offering a special touch by blending classic Western cooking techniques with Korean flavors like maesil jangajji (pickled plums) and Chuncheon dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken), creating a harmonious and distinctive taste experience.


Western-style main dishes such as the “Tteokgalbi hamburger with freshly made kimchi” creatively incorporate Korean flavors, perfectly capturing the essence of East and West. The generous portions of the main dishes are also impressive, reflecting the local culture of sharing food among groups.


Using the freshest premium ingredients is another point of pride for CHARR. Regional specialties sourced from across Korea?including sweet potatoes from Jeongseon, garlic from Uiseong, carrots from Jeju, water parsley from Cheongdo, and sausages from a salt shop in Mangwon-dong?are utilized as garnishes and sides, creating CHARR’s unique menu identity.


The launch of this new restaurant is led by the young and energetic culinary team of Rising Hotel. Executive Chef Yoon Chi-ho and patissier Goo Dan-bi, both with solid experience in global hotel kitchens and former members of Michelin-starred Chef David Thompson’s culinary team, will lead CHARR.


Meanwhile, to celebrate the grand opening on June 19, CHARR will offer special set menus and exclusive services. Like the Rising Hotel, a landmark in Hongdae, CHARR is set to establish itself as a perfect dining space, setting new standards for gourmet experiences.
