Gwangju Buk-gu Women's Happiness Support Center Launches Customized Support Project

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 18th that it will officially promote this year's projects of the 'Women's Happiness Support Center,' starting with the 'Parent Empathy Talk' on the 26th.

The 'Buk-gu Women's Happiness Support Center' has selected the Women's Workforce Development Center as the executing agency and plays a role in finding and solving various ways for women who are mentally and physically struggling due to childbirth and childcare, career interruption, sexual violence, and other difficulties to live a happy life.

This year, due to the impact of COVID-19, the first event will be the 'Parent Empathy Talk' held on the 26th at the Gwangju YWCA, with Dr. Lim Youngju from the Parent Education Research Institute participating to find solutions to parenting concerns.

In addition, a space for women who need rest, called 'My Heart Pat Pat, Visiting Mom Cafe,' will also be provided.

Furthermore, employment counseling will be conducted to help career-interrupted women participate in economic activities, and a training course for gender equality activists will be operated to spread a culture of gender equality within the region.

Besides these, various projects for women exhausted from childbirth and childcare, such as training courses for village care activists, dad childcare classes, and cooking classes, will be carried out.

For detailed schedules and participation methods of the Women's Happiness Support Center projects, please refer to the Buk-gu Office website.

District Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “Since women’s happiness leads to the happiness of the entire community, we will continue to prepare multifaceted support measures so that women can live confidently and safely in their lives.”
