[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando County (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) has completed the establishment of a smart city integrated platform for the safety of its residents.
According to Wando County on the 18th, on the 16th, a completion briefing session for the smart city integrated platform was held at the Wando County Office Situation Room, attended by about 50 officials from Jeollanam-do Provincial Police Agency, Jeollanam-do Fire Headquarters, Wando Maritime Police Station, and the 2nd Battalion of the Army 8539 Unit.
The smart city integrated platform was built to secure the golden time necessary for rescue and response in case of various crimes, disasters, accidents, and fires by sharing real-time footage from 907 CCTV cameras monitored 24 hours a day by Wando County with related agencies.
It is expected that this project completion will greatly help protect the lives and property of the residents.
Additionally, Wando County plans to start the ‘Smart Drone Construction Project,’ which was the first in the nation to be selected in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s public contest, from next month.
With a total project cost of 800 million KRW (national funds), drones applicable to marine safety and marine environment will be introduced, establishing a drone system that can be deployed in waters where ship entry is difficult to monitor and check for red tides and marine environmental conditions.
Governor Shin Woo-cheol of Wando County urged, “Through the integrated platform and smart drone project, we will protect the safety and property of residents not only on land but also at sea, and proactively respond to disaster safety to develop into a leading model without any setbacks.”
