[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The ASEAN Culture House, operated by the Korea Foundation (KF), announced on the 18th that it will launch the permanent exhibition "Weaving ASEAN, Connecting ASEAN" online through its website starting from the 19th.
The ASEAN Culture House has prepared its first online exhibition so that visitors who are reluctant to go out due to concerns over the resurgence of COVID-19 can appreciate the unique and original cultures of the 10 ASEAN countries through crafts from the comfort of their homes.
Accessible via PC or mobile by visiting the ASEAN Culture House website, this exhibition was produced using 360-degree VR filming techniques. Visitors can vividly view the actual exhibition hall, exhibits, and videos in high definition by following an automatically played viewing path, and also enjoy online-specialized content such as panoramic photos by section. Using VR gear allows for an even more immersive exhibition experience.
The permanent exhibition "Weaving ASEAN, Connecting ASEAN," which opened simultaneously with the inauguration of the ASEAN Culture House in 2017, consists of works made from various materials such as woodcrafts, clothing, metal crafts, and textiles donated by the 10 ASEAN countries. Last month, a "Recreation Corner of the 1st Korea-Mekong Summit Welcome Dinner," offering a glimpse into the 2019 Korea-Mekong Summit dinner scene, was also added as part of the permanent exhibition.
Starting with this permanent exhibition's online display, all exhibitions of the ASEAN Culture House will be produced as virtual exhibitions and introduced on the website.
