[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) has signed a community contribution business agreement with IoT-related R&D company People Multi Co., Ltd. to provide real-time health management for elderly people living alone using 4th industrial revolution technology.
On the 17th, Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Chae Hyun-il held a business agreement ceremony with Chairman Jo Gunsu and CEO Park Hoon-woong of People Multi, along with other company officials, signing the agreement to pledge their commitment to improving welfare for local elderly citizens.
The agreement includes ▲ establishing mutual exchange and cooperative relationships between institutions for the promotion of community welfare ▲ developing joint programs for community contribution ▲ supporting health management of elderly people living alone in the area using IoT devices.
Through this agreement, the district will provide real-time care services to elderly people living alone using IoT devices based on People Multi’s contactless healthcare detection sensor technology.
First, integrated sensors will be installed in the homes of 20 elderly people living alone, and their heart rate, respiration, and movement will be monitored in real time at a control center via the sensors. Temperature, humidity, odor, and illumination can also be measured.
Through this monitoring system, if there is a problem with the elderly person’s health or an emergency such as respiratory or heart disease occurs, the district will be immediately notified.
This will make it easier to secure the golden time to protect the health of the elderly and is expected to prevent social problems such as solitary death and depression among the elderly in preparation for the upcoming super-aged society.
People Multi, which signed the agreement with the district, is a promising small and medium-sized enterprise established in September 2018. After being selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ innovative startup project in the Startup Growth Technology Development Project in 2019, it was also selected as a final support company for the Seoul Startup Hub’s ‘Challenge Startup Support Project’ in June this year. The company has also been steadily engaged in community contribution activities such as donations to support victims of COVID-19.
Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Chae Hyun-il said, “I am pleased to provide real-time care services to elderly people living alone using innovative technology,” adding, “We will continue to strive to introduce welfare services based on ICT technology to create a more inclusive and open Yeongdeungpo.”
