Dongjak-gu, Smart Safety Village Branding Contest

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is promoting the ‘Dongjak-gu Smart Safety Village Branding Contest’ to build a unique smart safety village in the district with direct participation from residents.

The contest fields include naming, slogans, and logo design related to the district’s smart safety village, and participants can be individuals or teams (2-3 people) interested in the project.

The district will accept applications and contest proposals via email (yelin@dongjak.go.kr) from July 1 to 2, following the announcement period until July 3.

From July 6 to 8, a judging panel of three experts, including professors and related specialists, will evaluate entries based on ▲project representativeness ▲creativity of expression ▲popularity, awarding a total of 2.1 million KRW to four winners: one grand prize (individual/team), one excellence award (individual/team), and two encouragement awards (individual/team).

The final results will be announced on July 10 through the district office website, and the outstanding ideas selected will be used as representative content for the Dongjak-gu smart safety village.

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Future City Division.

Additionally, this year, the district is establishing the nation’s first ‘Smart Safety Village’ to ensure safe walking and traffic for residents.

The project targets Sadang 1-dong and 4-dong, where last year a smart safety village master plan was developed, deriving traffic safety solutions tailored to the area through data analysis, living labs, and expert consultations.

In the target areas, facilities such as ▲LED ground traffic lights ▲unmanned traffic monitoring cameras at major road crosswalks ▲intersection alert systems ▲smart benches will be installed.

Park Yeonsu, head of the Future City Division, said, “We hope this contest will discover a unique smart safety village brand for Dongjak-gu created and promoted directly by residents,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to promote projects that realize a Dongjak-gu-style, life-centered smart city.”
