Hackers Reports Zero Additional COVID-19 Cases... Spotlight on Hackers Language Academy's 'Quarantine Success' Secret

Hackers Reports Zero Additional COVID-19 Cases... Spotlight on Hackers Language Academy's 'Quarantine Success' Secret

On the 10th, it was revealed that no additional COVID-19 cases occurred at the Hackers headquarters, where a confirmed case had previously been reported. COVID-19 tests were conducted on a total of 215 people, including 10 close contacts of the confirmed programmer employee of Hackers Co., Ltd. (the 42nd confirmed case in Anyang City), and all tested negative.

According to Hackers, the reason no additional confirmed cases emerged at the headquarters of this large educational company employing hundreds of staff was due to the thorough quarantine and prevention policies that Hackers has strictly enforced in all its academies and offices.

- Hackers’ Prompt Response

First, although the Hackers Language Academy was not included in the confirmed programmer employee’s movement path and the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency’s epidemiological investigation found no need to close, the academy voluntarily closed for one day on the 10th as a preventive measure. Along with the closure, Hackers Language Academy took thorough disinfection measures through a professional sanitation company and resumed normal operations from the 11th. All related individuals who tested negative were instructed to self-quarantine for two weeks to ensure a more robust response to COVID-19.

Additionally, since January 2020, when the first COVID-19 cases began to appear, Hackers Language Academy has required all employees to wear masks at all times. Each office has a designated person responsible for strictly checking and recording compliance, drawing attention for its swift response. Furthermore, every morning, all employees’ temperatures are measured and recorded, with immediate action taken if abnormalities are detected. Regular disinfection is conducted by professional companies, and frequently touched items such as doorknobs are disinfected frequently to prevent virus spread.

- Model Academy for Quarantine: Hackers

Hackers’ rigorous quarantine and prevention policies are even more strongly applied at the academies. Hackers Language Academy has installed thermal cameras at entrances to measure the temperature of all visitors, including students and instructors. Visitors must sign an entry log and use hand sanitizer mandatorily. Anyone not wearing a mask is prohibited from entering the building, and mask compliance is checked frequently during classes and movement; those found without masks are immediately asked to leave.

Moreover, a 1-meter distancing rule is enforced everywhere students go, including classrooms, study rooms, and self-study spaces, with resident teaching assistants strictly monitoring compliance. These principles are firmly applied not only to students but also to professional instructors. All instructors at Hackers Language Academy sign a “No Entry to Crowded Spaces Pledge” to preemptively block potential risks and strictly adhere to distancing and mask-wearing rules. As a result of these strict quarantine policies, not a single confirmed case has occurred among Hackers Language Academy students or any students across all Hackers academies.

Thanks to Hackers’ thorough prevention policies achieving zero additional confirmed cases, it is being recognized as an excellent model for academies and workplaces in the COVID-19 era. A representative from Hackers Education Group stated that they will continue to lead efforts to overcome the COVID-19 virus through systematic prevention and quarantine.

- Strict 1-Meter Distancing and Anticipated Quick Enrollment... Online Classes Also Launched

Meanwhile, the Gangnam Station Campus, Jongno Campus, and Daegu Dongseong-ro Campus of Hackers Language Academy have applied the government’s 1-meter distancing guidelines to all academy facilities to create a safer environment. This means that fewer people can attend in-person lectures than before, and popular courses are expected to fill up faster than ever.

Hackers Language Academy is currently accepting summer vacation course registrations for July and August. When enrolling in the TOEIC summer vacation courses, which are highly recommended, early bird discounts on tuition fees are offered. Students who register for both July and August offline lectures will receive the Hackers TOEIC RC textbook free of charge. Additionally, twice-monthly TOEIC weakness check mock tests and problem-solving materials are provided. Various benefits are also offered for courses such as TOEIC Speaking (TOS)/OPIc, TOEFL, Chinese, and Japanese.

Since only a limited number of students can attend offline lectures due to the 1-meter distancing seating arrangement, Hackers Language Academy has launched online classes to allow more students to participate. The online classes offer special summer vacation benefits, including supplementary materials created by star instructors, free shipping, handout materials provided to offline students, and 1:1 management and encouragement messages from star instructors, making them very popular.
