[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] T-Robotics, specializing in the development and production of vacuum robots and medical rehabilitation robots, announced on the 17th that it has invested 1.5 billion KRW in Myoswiss, a Swiss soft suit robot solution development specialist company, to strengthen technological cooperation in rehabilitation robot solutions.
T-Robotics is the only company in Korea exporting vacuum robots. For over three years, it has been steadily developing food tech-related robots, rehabilitation robots, and autonomous transport robots.
A T-Robotics official stated, “By investing to strengthen technological cooperation with Myoswiss in soft suit robot technology, we have been able to enhance the completeness of our company’s robot technology. This will enable us to strengthen cooperation in various robot-related fields.”
Myoswiss was established in 2017. On September 24 last year, it received the Horizon Prize for Social Innovation from the European Commission for its innovative idea to improve mobility for the elderly in Europe. The company commercialized robots in the medical rehabilitation (mild) robot field by developing the Myosuit, a wearable muscle-strengthening garment made by combining functional fibers to act as wearable muscles.
A company representative emphasized, “The soft suit technology is an advanced wearable robot technology developed at Harvard University in the United States for soldiers’ muscle assistance, and Myoswiss commercialized it as a lower limb rehabilitation robot. This technology is expected to expand into advanced technologies such as home rehabilitation robots and muscle-strengthening robots for the elderly.”
He added, “Following the recent recruitment of Dr. Hyunseop Park, who served as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s top three robot PDs, T-Robotics will gain momentum in entering specialized service robot fields such as medical rehabilitation robots, food tech robots, and autonomous transport robots through technological cooperation with Myoswiss. We will continue to actively invest in R&D as a specialized robot business company and invest without hesitation in talent acquisition to become a world-leading robot specialist company.”
