[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced on the 17th that it signed a 'Mutual Business Agreement to Support Foreign Workers under the Employment Permit System' with Gyeongnam Province and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea at its headquarters in Sacheon, Gyeongnam.

Introduced in 2004, the Employment Permit System is a program that allows small and medium-sized enterprises experiencing labor shortages due to difficulties in hiring domestic workers to legally employ foreign workers. The target countries include 16 nations such as the Philippines, Vietnam, and China.

According to the agreement, KAI plans to provide various programs for foreign workers, including tours of aircraft production sites and local cultural experiences.

Gyeongnam Province will invite employers and foreign employees to promote mutual communication and harmony, while the Human Resources Development Service of Korea will cooperate to improve the job satisfaction of foreign workers.

At the event, ambassadors and diplomatic officials from countries participating in the Employment Permit System experienced the performance of the domestically produced helicopter, Chamsuri, by boarding it.

Chamsuri is a police helicopter developed by KAI based on the domestically produced Surion helicopter, with three units provided by the National Police Agency for the event. Chamsuri demonstrated maritime hovering, horizontal flight, and low-altitude flight from Namhae to Samcheonpo.

KAI President Ahn Hyun-ho said, "Through this agreement to expand exchanges at the civilian level, we will also contribute to strengthening diplomatic relations," adding, "We will develop and produce aircraft tailored to the standards of customer countries and contribute to the export of domestically produced aircraft."
